Gumboot Friday!

GUMBOOT FRIDAY!

Hello bloggers! On Friday we did fantastic GUMBOOT FRIDAY! Gumboot Friday is about raising Mental Health awareness. If you don’t know what Mental
Health I will tell you what it is. It is about your
brain and how healthy your brain is. It could also be if whether you are positive everyday and you are able to do things. We also did little cards to put inside letter boxes. We did this
because if anyone is struggling we can uplift them again to joyfulness. We wrote positive short quotes and drew a small picture. I wrote on the card Create your own sunshine, whatever you do make sure you’re happy.
I did a blue and red card and wrote small short ones. I also drew a heart at the bottom of the writing and who it was from. We got the idea from the Healthy Puketapapa student questionnaire. 30 students were chosen to do the form. We also got an idea for posting in letter boxes, it  was from a student named Neeve in my class. It was very fun and we went in groups of 8 or 9 and we went on different streets to put in letter box. It can relate to us because of the WELL BEING survey and about our school values like Respect. We have our topic for the whole year which is HAUORA  - WELL BEING. A lady rang up our school office and she received a card. She said that it brightened her sons day. She was almost about to cry because he was struggling with mental health.
You can pass on the card to people that you know that are struggling with mental health.
Make a card if you want to make one for everyone and share the kindness, and help.
Bad thoughts are like you are stuck in the mud, and you need gumboots to get through the mud to happy thoughts.
Change other people’s thoughts to happy thought
Blog you guys later!

these are the people who brang gumboots

Amazing Tread Lightly

 Tread lightly Caravan 2019

Hi guys, I am going to tell you about the Tread Lightly Caravan. It was amazing and I learnt a lot of stuff about how to care for our drains. Some of you already know the Tread Lightly caravan and think its boring. Well this one had VR head sets and talked about a lot of things. We went into three groups and and went to different places and we were very excited. I firstly went outside with Phil to the caravan and we talked about were things go out the drain. the caravan also had a big model of little statues to. Rubbish that goes down the drain ends up into the sea and floats around. When you flush the toilet it goes to a place called''Waste Water Treatment Plant'. I learnt that smoking segregates can poison 7 litres of water which is the size of a milk bottle. Then I went with Ramana and we went to go look around the school drains to see if there was rubbish in there. there were a lot of rubbish in two drains and grass clippings. one of them had grass growing out of a drain which was blocking the rubbish .Then I went with the last session was with Hannah and we talked about the wet lands. My favourite thing about the Tread Lightly caravan was the VR sets. It was my favourite because they talked about rubbish and it looked like it was real. Here are some photos about the Tread Lightly Caravan.
Thank you for looking at my blog post. Don't forget to comment.
See You later.
