10 food items to take on an ocean trip

Hi everybody, today is the first day of the Summer learning journey of Week 1. Our task today is to list 10 food items on a ocean trip with a person called Nainoa for three weeks. Did you know tat in 2017 a group called Hokulea traveled around the world with only those materials like a canoe and food. I'm sure that when I'm on the boat for two minutes I would get sea sick. Okay since I'm ready I'm going to be listing my things down now. Here is what I would take on the trip with Nainoa for three weeks on a boat trip:

1. A big sandwich
2. A Bag of chips
3. An apple
4. A pineapple
5. Biscuits
6. Block of cheese
7. Boiled egg
8. Orange
9.  Strawberries
10. Chocolate that can melt for the Strawberries!

The first thing I would eat is the pineapple so that I can open it first and eat so that it can fill me up till Dinner. Thank you for reading my blog post and make sure you comment bellow. Bye!

Summer learning journey teaser week!

Hi everyone and today I am doing the summer learning journey teaser week. I chose one of the main ones and it was what are the two things that are good and bad about being the world's best chess player. I made it on a google drawing and the world's best chess player in the world is called Garry Kasparov. He didn't have much time to play chess with his family and friends when he was little. The two things I wrote that was bad was when you play chess you have to think of a strategy and you have to play for a long time when you make a bad move. Now I want to play chess with someone. I wonder if I ever become famous for something in my future. Here is a link to my drawing and you can look at the information I wrote down. Thanks for reading! Bye!

Christmas Dress up day!

Talofa everybody, today we had a Christmas dress up day. We had to bring a gold coin for the Christmas Dress up. This was for things to put in hampers to give to families that need it. Everybody looked so amazing with Christmas earrings, headbands, outfits, and face paint. Some people dressed up as Santa and elves. My favourite Christmas decoration was the reindeer earrings and the face paint that we did. My T-shirt was red and white and it said ''`I believe in Santa Paws.'' All the shiny things that were for Christmas trees was what some people were wearing as a scarf or around their waist. The most colour that was worn was red and white. Most people had reindeer's on there headbands and T-shirts. They also had Christmas stars on there Santa hats that lit up. Last but not least is that if I had a costume I would become an Elf. Thank you for reading my blog post about the Christmas Dress up today. Make sure to look at the photos before you go!

Choir concert!

Hello everybody, On the 26th of November our school Choir went to the Town Hall to perform. There were Twelve schools and the hall was humongous! My parents were at the top and I grinned at them. We had fourteen songs to sing and some of them were the National Athem, Rock in Robin, The phantom, What about us, Eye of the tiger, and other songs too. There were breaks for the choir and other people performed in between the breaks. My favorite one was a band in the first break. They sounded amazing and they had trumpets. During the choir songs the hall was getting hot and I started to melt down. It was like you were an Ice block melting down and gone! I was really nervous when the concert started and everyone was looking at us. When I looked around me all the choir students were smiling except for me. I was nervous until I started singing and I felt better. It was tiring and after the concert I went to McDonald's and I got a Milkshake. Before that when I got picked up after the concert I was so relieved that I got fresh air. The moment I went outside I wanted to stay outside. After we went home I jumped in bed and went straight to sleep! How I felt after the choir was tired from singing and standing up and down. That was the moment when I went straight to sleep!

Thank you for reading my story about the choir concert!
See you later bloggers!

The Schools Unveiling!

Hi everybody! On Monday we had a special Unveiling of the new garden and The schools art! We went outside in house groups and went to our New garden. The Middle school made rocks to put around it and painted them. There were ribbons around it and there was also our Kowhai tree we planted from the mosque. We sat around the garden and sang our song that one of the parents made for our school. The eldest and the youngest student got to cut the ribbons on both sides for the garden. There was a metal label that was on both languages Maori and English of the friendship chair. After that we moved under the Gum tree and did the Unveiling of the Cultural people we made. We had different countries that each class painted and designed. Two students from each class got to pull down the clothe to show to our community. The drone that we got was up in the sky taking photos of everybody sitting on the grass. There were twenty countries on the fence and took photos of when the unveiling was done. The bell rang and everyone looked at it after school when it was time to go home. Thank you for looking at my blog and make sure you look at photos before you go! Bye!

Choir rehearsals at Oratia school!

Hi bloggers, Welcome back to my blog and on Thursday 30th of October we went to Oratia District school to have Choir rehearsals. As you know we got three and a half weeks till the Choir concert and I'm really nervous! We did all the songs we knew in the first half and then all the songs that we need to practice in the other half. We spent the whole day singing and standing up and down and now my back is really sore. There school is really big that they have a bike trail and heaps of bikes. They had a hall that looked like a big church with a big bell at the top of it. Both of the sides could fit in one humongous school hall!

My favorite song out of all of them is Les miserable because its really fast at first and then it goes to soft and slow. The songs are based on a movie thats a about poor people that fight for there right to have freedom! When its the Choir concert our Choir trainer said to sing our hearts out and that means sing as loud as you can without shouting. Thank you for reading my blog and next time I might be able to put photos up from our concert in our next time!bye!

Supermarket trip!

Hi everybody, Welcome back to my blog and now today we are going to be talking about the Supermarket. We went to the supermarket to look at the sugar total on food packets. We went in classes and cars from parent volunteers that took our class. We had a worksheet and went in groups with a parent to find food that was healthy and food that is not healthy. We looked in each section like muesli bars, bread, dairy food, and snack packets. Our main thing we were looking for is what has the most sugar and what has least sugar. We started at different sections and looked for healthy and unhealthy foods. My group started with the Muesli bars and there was tons of unhealthy bars to eat. The main thing we were looking in Muesli bars were the sugar total. We moved on to the next section which was Dairy food. Yogurt is really healthy to eat all the time and then we moved on to snack packets. They looked really yum and our aim was sodium and fat total.

Our last one was bread and the bread was the healthiest foods out of all the sections.  After we finished we had to go to the fruit and vegetable section, but our group took to long so we had to go outside and wait for the other groups. We waited for everyone else outside and then we all got a free lunch box. It was green and it had at the back of the lid of what we eat everyday and what  we eat sometimes. Each class in the syndicate got a free gift card that had $60 to spend on something healthy we could make for lunch! That's what we did on Wednesday 23rd of October. Thank you for reading my blog post and make sure you look at the photos before you go! Bye!
